The Question of David

Written by: Denise Sherer Jacobson

There was a big discrepancy between Diane’s projected image of David and the delightful baby I saw before me.Denise Sherer Jacobson

Overview: This book is so well-written and incredibly relatable. Denise Sherer Jacobson shares her journey through adoption and motherhood with such honesty that you feel like you’re right there with her. She doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff—especially the prejudice and bias she and her husband, Neil, face from people who see their disabilities before they see their intelligence, love, and humanity.

Bree Walker nails it in the foreword: “The Question of David will get in your face and make you squirm. But it will also make you laugh and cry and celebrate every detail of the time-honored vocation of motherhood.” I couldn’t agree more.

Who this book is for: Honestly, everyone. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, social worker, or just someone who wants a more compassionate view of the world, this book is a must-read. I can’t recommend it enough!
